Common Registration
The portal has been adding facilities to its kitty since the day it was launched and on the very auspicious occasion of International Labour Day 2018, (1 May 2018), three more services were formally launched on this platform for the benefit of the working class. It is pertinent to mention that these services have been running on trial basis on the Shram Suvidha Portal since last few months to make it better suited to the needs of the users. First one of these is Unified registration form for Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948 and Employees' Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. This means that employers now need to fill a single form for registration under these acts instead of the two that were available on EPFO and ESIC portal. The second one is Unified monthly returns (ECR) under Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948 and Employees' Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. This facility allows preparation and submission of single monthly returns for workers instead of two separate returns. The final one is Unified registration form for the three Acts implemented by Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) i.e. registration of Principal Employers under Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, registration of construction agencies under Building and other construction Workers (Regulation and Employment and Condition of Service) Act, 1996 and registration of Principal Employers under Inter State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) Central Rules, 1980. These registration services were available only manually meaning thereby that the users had to fill them and submit to the local office of the Chief Labour Commissioner (central). This was not only time consuming but also required a lot of effort. Now it shall be available online at the same place. An outstanding feature of these services is option for use of e-Signature (along with old Digital Signature) which is Aadhaar based OTP enabled signature service and is free.
